IAP Researchers to Presented at TeraTech 2024

IAP researchers will be presenting their latest work at TeraTech 2024, the 11th International Symposium on Terahertz-Related Devices and Technologies. This symposium aims to bring together researchers addressing fundamental and applied problems in terahertz-related devices and technologies, stimulating discussions on state-of-the-art results and promoting collaborations.

Professor Abdelouahed El Fatimy chaired the TeraTech session on Friday, June 14, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Additionally, he also presented a talk titled “Development of Graphene Quantum Dot Terahertz Bolometer” on Wednesday from 16:30 to 17:00. This presentation  explore the innovative development of graphene quantum dots for advanced terahertz bolometric detection.

Nour Alem, a scientist from IAP, presented her work titled “THz Imaging for Monitoring Olive Tree Leaves Status under Different Stress Conditions in a Controlled Environment” on Friday from 8:00 to 8:45. Her research highlights the use of terahertz imaging to monitor the health of olive tree leaves under various stress conditions, demonstrating the potential of THz technology in agricultural applications.

Amined Meskar, a Ph.D. candidate from IAP, discussed “Enhancing Optical Fiber Transmission with MoS2 Deposition” on Friday from 8:45 to 9:00. His presentation will delve into how MoS2 deposition can enhance the performance of optical fiber transmission, presenting significant implications for telecommunications.

Batoul Abouddouhaj, another Ph.D. candidate from IAP, presented her research on “0.3 THz Detection by AlGaN/GaN High Electron Mobility Transistor under the Current Instability” on Friday from 11:30 to 11:45. This talk will cover the detection capabilities of AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistors at 0.3 THz, highlighting their potential for high-frequency applications.

TeraTech 2024 provides a unique platform for researchers to share their findings, discuss challenges, and foster collaborations in the field of terahertz technologies. IAP is proud to be represented among the esteemed speakers and looks forward to contributing to the advancement of this dynamic field.
