IAP Physics Seminar Series will occur on Tuesday 03 December, at 11:15 at the UM6P campus (Ryad 8, 1st floor).
Abstract:
This seminar explores advanced strategies for addressing the challenges associated with renewable energy integration into modern power systems, focusing on smart microgrids. While renewable energy sources like solar and wind provide sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels, their inherent intermittency presents significant challenges to energy management and grid stability. The presentation highlights innovative solutions designed to optimize the performance and reliability of microgrids. These solutions include advanced modeling and control approaches tailored for the integration of distributed energy resources such as photovoltaic systems, wind turbines, battery storage, and electric vehicles. Central to the discussion is a dual-layer framework combining an advanced control system with a cutting-edge energy management system. This framework enhances real-time energy scheduling, minimizes operational costs, and ensures grid stability under varying environmental conditions. This seminar aims to provide actionable insights into overcoming the challenges of renewable energy integration, contributing to the global transition toward resilient and sustainable energy systems.
