Biography

Developing thermally efficient materials for 3D-printed construction

Abderrahim Boujdid is an Education Fellow at the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.

He received his engineering degree in Civil Engineering from the Mohammadia School of Engineers in Rabat, Morocco, in 2022.

In 2023, he obtained the Agrégation degree in Industrial Sciences and joined Mohammed VI Polytechnic University as an Education Fellow. He is currently pursuing a PhD degree by research at UM6P.

His research focuses on integrating Phase Change Materials into 3D-printed concrete to develop thermally efficient and sustainable cementitious materials. His work examines how latent heat storage materials can improve the thermal performance, energy efficiency and durability of additively manufactured building components.

A central aspect of his research is the development and optimization of PCM-enhanced printable concrete mixtures. This includes material formulation, rheological behavior, printability, mechanical performance and thermal-energy storage under realistic construction and operational conditions.

Alongside his doctoral research, he delivers lectures, tutorials and laboratory sessions in engineering and applied sciences. He supports undergraduate education through theoretical instruction and practical training.
