UM6P Doctoral Journal Club

UM6P Doctoral Journal Club (UDJC) is a UM6P initiative for graduate students/PhDs/PostDcos/Faculty members.

This club aims to nourish the students in advanced scientific research and its methodology for making them academically and scientifically sound with a critical thinking approach. This platform is designed to enhance the students’ soft skills in debating the novel phenomenon of science and technology in particular and issues of active interest in non-specialized fields, which may provide a large spectrum of knowledge to the students. In addition, the journal club allows students to actively interact with colleagues on their research topic, which is essential for team building with a good spirit. Further, it helps to develop a process to understand and critique published work. The additional benefits of this initiative are the systematic analysis of publications, the development of public speaking, being ready for spontaneous discussion, and develop an effective presentation style. Recall that, Participation in this initiative might be a milestone in making the UM6P a real multidisciplinary research place.

The UDJC is a multidisciplinary platform to discuss science among an audience with different backgrounds and disciplines, and this wide spectrum exchange may lead to novel ideas.

The UDJC takes place every Monday at 17:15 at the School Meeting Room. You are welcome to attend, and please send us an email to IAP@um6p.ma
