Welcome to the UM6P Institute of Applied Physics (UM6P – IAP). We are the young and thrilling community of faculty members, students, postdocs, administrative, and technical staff committed to UM6P’s mission as a student-centered research University. IAP is focused on creating high-level research and education environments and training new generations of African physicists and Faculty, particularly in Condensed Matter Physics, Nanoscience and high energy physics.
IAP Faculty work in various fields, including 2D Materials, Terahertz Photonics and Technology, high energy physics, and Space Science.
It is an exciting time for physical science at UM6P. A new state-of-the-art laboratory has started in 2023, providing opportunities for research and training on 2D Materials and Terahertz Photonics. Most of the research laboratories at the IAP are in a rapid development phase.
